A Board member since June 2003 and Chairperson from May 2012. Monika has a Master degree in Innovation and Service Management and a Bachelor in Public Relations. Monika brings to the Board a strong sense of social justice, clear strategic thinking and both local and international understanding of the role of skills development in empowering local communities to grow and prosper.
Joining the Board in September 2015, Trent has enjoyed a lengthy career serving the community with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade. He has performed a range of community focused roles and utilises his strategic leadership and emergency risk management skills across a number of disciplines. In his current role as Assistant Chief Fire Officer and Director Operational Training, Trent enjoys supporting firefighters and communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Luigi dal Cin
Luigi joined the board in March 2017. He is an experienced Financial Controller with extensive experience as a key member of Executive Teams, managing all financial aspects of a business including Business Assurance and Risk Management together with effective human resource practices in recruitment, selection and performance management. Luigi holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting/Economics) and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA). Luigi has a strong sense of community and has volunteered at the St Vincent De Paul Visitation and Soup Vans (Fitzroy Soup Kitchen).
Stephen joined the board as Treasurer in October 2016. Prior to this he acted as the financial consultant to the board for over 25 years. Stephen has over 35 years’ experience in the accounting industry and business world, and has also spent six years as Treasurer of the Mental Illness Fellowship. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Stephen has over 30 years’ experience as registered company auditor and a registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund auditor. He has also provided extensive advice to the not-for-profit sector, including Limited by Guarantee companies and Incorporated Associations who receive funding from the State and Federal Government.
Leonie has been a board member since August 2013. She holds a degree in Psychology/Psychophysiology as well as various post graduate qualifications and is currently the Team Leader of Youth Service Development at Banyule City Council. During her employment at Banyule over the last 8 years she has acted in the role of coordinating youth worker for the Olympic Village Youth project and as Link U youth outreach program Team Leader. Prior to this, she held positions across various organisations often specialising in case management of at-risk young people particularly in the drug and alcohol sector, as well as working in community development and tertiary education.
Lior joined the Board in September 2017. Lior has considerable experience in the employment sector and currently holds the position of Chief Legal Counsel at online employment classified site SEEK.com.au, with responsibility for the delivery of legal services to SEEK’s Australian and Asian businesses. Lior’s areas of expertise include, mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance acquisitions with an international focus on China, South East Asia and the Americas.
Allister joined the board in April 2018. With an initial private sector background and then building significant experience in the public sector, Allister has been working for Banyule City Council since 2003. His current role as Strategic Development & Performance Coordinator sees Allister work alongside stakeholders to develop key plans and direction and promote initiatives for sustainable service delivery. His position also has a strong focus on development and improvement, at both strategic and functional levels. Allister also holds a degree in Science (Electronics and Statistics), along with a Grad. Dip. of Management, with other studies in Accounting, Politics, Aboriginal Studies, and post grad statistics. Allister lives locally, and values the importance of building strong communities.
Joining the board in April 2018, Catherine comes with diverse financial oversight and management experience within banking, mining and manufacturing companies. Over the last four years Catherine has successfully transitioned from the Corporate Sector to the Community Sector working as a Financial Counsellor assisting some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Catherine is dedicated to empowering others to improve and advance the rights of the vulnerable. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and several post graduate qualifications including a Master of Business Administration.
