E-focus, founded in 1976, is a community based not-for-profit organisation that delivers a range of services to alleviate disadvantage and to enrich the lives of individuals and local communities. Delivering nationally recognised training, employment assistance and projects to aid in community development; E-focus aims to provide economic and employment related assistance to individuals especially the most disadvantaged.
It’s through the provision of E-focus Training, WCN E-focus Disability Employment Services, Jobs Victoria, Employability Skills Training (EST), ParentsNext, The HUB and Himilo Community Connect that we able to fulfil our purpose. This is also recognised through our work with employers to recruit and train new and existing workers as apprentices and trainees, and as the lead agency in the consortium that operates the National Australian Apprenticeship Centre – Apprenticeships Matter and Apprenticeships Matter for Women.
Our Statement of Purpose:
To enable long-term unemployed people, particularly those unemployed for 12 months or more, and other most disadvantaged people, to obtain and retain employment or to proceed to further education or training through the provision of skills training, employment-related assistance (including personal support and referral) and enterprise activities by groups in the community with demonstrated capacity to deliver such services.
We believe employment is a basic human right and need.
We enable people, especially the most disadvantaged to meet this need, thus contributing to community economic well-being.
To be a caring, innovative, not-for-profit organisation offering a holistic, high quality blend of recruitment, training and community services to all, especially those most disadvantaged in seeking and retaining employment.
